Why build your app with Flutter: one codebase for iOS, Android, web and desktop
Flutter lets one team ship iOS, Android, web and desktop apps from a single codebase. Here is when it is the right choice, and when it is not.
Building the same app twice, once for iOS and once for Android, doubles design reviews, bug fixes and release work. Flutter, Google's open-source UI toolkit, removes most of that duplication: one codebase written in Dart runs on iOS, Android, the web and Windows desktop.
We use it ourselves. Our restaurant waiter and kitchen display apps and our field-team checklist app are built with Flutter, so the advice below comes from shipping, not theory.

Moving to a single Flutter codebase changes the day-to-day work of building and maintaining an app in these ways.
- One team and one codebase to maintain instead of two
- The same look and behavior on every device, because Flutter draws its own interface
- Faster iteration: a fix or feature reaches both stores together
- Strong support for custom designs, animations and right-to-left languages such as Arabic
- Offline storage and background sync using mature libraries
When native is still the better choice
Flutter is not always the answer. If your app depends on very deep, platform-specific hardware features, or on the newest operating system APIs the day they are released, fully native development can be simpler. For most business apps (ordering, field work, booking, dashboards, marketplaces) Flutter covers everything needed.
What to check before you start
A few answers up front keep the scope realistic and the budget predictable.
- Which platforms you need on day one, and which can follow later
- Whether the app must work offline
- Which integrations are required: payments, maps, push notifications, your ERP or POS
- Which languages and text directions you must support
- Who will own and maintain the source code after launch
How we deliver Flutter projects
We follow six steps: align on goals, scope the first release, design the flows, build in short agile cycles, test with your team, then launch on the App Store and Google Play and support the app afterwards. Based in Algeria, we work with clients worldwide. Contact us to scope your Flutter app.
